Jazz workshop
On Thursday Year 6 performed a jazz concert with Jazz musicians Pete
Latank and Natalie Williams. It was a fantastic concert, enjoyed by
all Fox children and Year 6 parents. The concert was recorded and
we are attempting to upload this on our web site.

Voluntary Readers
From September, we are looking for 5 to 6 parents who will be prepared
to become voluntary readers at Fox. It will involve supporting 2 children
read once per week. If you are interested, please contact Paul Cotter
or Maya Wittleton. In order to be a voluntary reader, you will need
a current CRB.

Pigeon in the playground
Last Wednesday a crowd of children followed a pigeon around the playground.
It couldn’t fly and had fishing wire tangled around both legs. The
rings on its legs indicated that it was a racing pigeon. Maggie caught
the pigeon and managed to cut the wire off. Still though the pigeon
would not fly. Maggie called the racing pigeon association and discovered
it was from Southampton. The pigeon was part of a race, starting in
France and supposedly ending in Southampton! It would seem that the
pigeon fancied visiting the bright lights but unfortunately its sat
nav failed. The Fox allotment seemed like a safe haven. Fortunately
a kind pigeon keeper from Bethnal Green took the pigeon home and was
going to release it when it got its strength back. Well done Maggie.

Goodbye to staff
All the staff at Fox would like to say a special thank you and goodbye
to Mrs Kember, who is leaving us on Friday. Mrs Kember has worked
at Fox for the last 18 years and feels very much part of the furniture.
Mrs Kember’s claim to fame is that it was her daughter, Grace, who
designed the Fox logo.
We would also like to say goodbye and good luck to Miss Turner, Mr
Lydon, Miss Beggs, Mrs Russel. |
