Thanks to the 1944 Education Act every child in Britain has the right to free education.

At Fox School, we feel very lucky that our building – although nearly 80 years old – is a pleasant setting amid a vibrant community, and is a happy place for children to come to every day, for staff to teach in, and for parents and carers to help create an extended community around.

At Fox, we aim to give children the very best possible education. Much time and careful thought goes into planning and striving for excellence in order to achieve a balance between high quality teaching and learning, and offering children a range of exciting activities and fun. We want children to leave Fox School well equipped for secondary education and with many happy memories of their time at this very special primary school.

However, in this time of economic instability, changes will be taking place in the way schools are funded. Although there is much uncertainty about exactly how schools will be affected, we do know that over the next few years there will be significant budget cuts that will affect the quality of provision at Fox. With this in mind, we would like to build up a savings pot with the aim of reducing the impact of any cuts when they come.

Therefore, we are asking everyone from our community - ex pupils, parents and carers who might be in a position to offer financial support, to consider making donations to Fox School via gift aid either by way of a regular monthly payment or a one off sum. In doing this via the Fox Parent Teacher Association (the FSA), which is a registered charity, we are able to gain tax relief. This means that a £100 donated becomes £128 - the collective gift aid would significantly increase the amount of funds available to enable us to continue to provide ‘the extras’ that help create a rich and varied curriculum for all children at Fox School.
